Yvette and Matthew’s Wedding Day | St Saviours Church Pimlico
Set on St George’s Square, St Saviour’s Church is a beautiful Pimlico landmark, with a soaring spire, Gothic architecture and richly detailed stained-glass windows. Dating back to 1864, this welcoming Church of England church combines historic character with a strong community feel - a lovely setting for a Yvette and Matthew’s meaningful celebration in the heart of London. It also held an extra special meaning - Yvette is Director of Music at the church and met Matthew there. It was the perfect place to hold not only their wedding but a small celebration afterwards with their friends and family.
A wedding ceremony at St Saviour’s would usually follow the Church of England marriage service, bringing together your vows, the exchange of rings, prayers and a blessing of your marriage. There’s also at least one Bible reading and a short talk from the priest, with opportunities to make the service feel personal through your choice of music, hymns and additional readings. Family or friends can take part by giving readings or leading prayers, adding another meaningful connection to the day. The church team can help you plan the details and confirm the requirements for marrying there.
