South London Kids and Family Photographer | Christine Constantine Photography
When I’m not photographing weddings or Christenings, I’m also a passionate London family and kids photographer—a role I absolutely love. Based in South London, I work with families across Tooting, Clapham, Balham, Brixton, and Streatham, capturing natural, joy-filled moments between parents and children in the neighbourhoods we all call home.
As a South London family photographer, I regularly shoot in beautiful local spots like Tooting Common, Clapham Common, Streatham Common, Brockwell Park, and Wandsworth Common—perfect for relaxed, outdoor family photoshoots. These wide, open green spaces are ideal for letting kids be themselves while I capture genuine expressions and interactions.
My approach to family photography is always relaxed, playful, and stress-free. After a few classic group shots, I love to step back and let the children run around, explore, and just be themselves. That’s when the magic happens—those authentic, personality-filled moments that truly tell your family’s story.
While I’m based in South London, I’m more than happy to travel further afield for your family shoot—just a quick bus or train ride away. Whether you're looking for a candid session in your local park or a more personal shoot in your home, I’ll work around your family’s schedule to make it easy and above all, enjoyable.
“Beautiful photographs - Christine was very friendly and kind, even with our overly enthusiastic dog! Photos are brilliant and we got them back very quickly. Would 100% recommend!”

Why Family Photography Matters for Busy London Families
For families in London, finding time to gather everyone in one place is a rare and meaningful occasion. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or simply a long-overdue family get-together, these moments are worth capturing with professional family photography. When the whole family is together, it’s the perfect opportunity to document genuine connections, shared laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Family photography isn’t just about posed portraits—it’s about telling your family’s story through natural, heartfelt images. As a local South London family photographer, I can come to your home or chosen location and make the experience relaxed and personal. Familiar surroundings help everyone feel at ease, especially young children and elderly relatives, allowing for more authentic, emotive photos.
Choosing a local photographer also means working with someone who understands the charm and diversity of South London—from leafy parks in Dulwich to vibrant streets in Brixton. Whether you prefer candid shots in your garden or a more styled session indoors, a professional will tailor the experience to reflect your family’s unique dynamic.
When the whole family is finally together, don’t let the moment slip by. Capture it with professional family photography that celebrates connection, love, and the joy of being home—right here in South London.
Newborn Baby Photography
I love photographing newborn babies too! Its so lovely going into new family homes and getting to know the new parents in such a quiet, tranquil place. I try to photograph the babies from as many angles as I can, using as much natural light as I can. I also love photographing the tiny details too, such as their hands and feet. :-)

Clapham Common is local to me and I just love taking natural family photography here. There are various little areas I’m familiar with so you wont spend too long with your little ones looking for suitable spots!

Kelly and Family Photoshoot | Tooting Common | Christine Constantine Photography
How can you beat the gift of a Family Photoshoot? Balham residents Kelly and her family invited me into their home near Tooting Common for a few family snaps of a rare whole family get-together. We started in the garden and ended up on the common for some more relaxed family photography. Here’s what we came up with and what you can expect from a photoshoot with London family and kids photographer Christine Constantine.

Surviving a Family Photoshoot! Some good advice from South London Kids Photographer Christine C..
Some Do’s and Don’ts of how to make your next family photo session a stress free one!
Taking the kids out can be stressful enough as it is without worrying how they’re gonna behave when you’ve invested good money and organised a family photoshoot. Are they gonna sit still? Are they gonna run away or pull stupid faces? What if they throw the biggest tantrum and spit at the photographer? (Ok that last one hasnt happened to me lol).
Well it goes without saying that my job is to put everyone at ease and try and at least make it fun for everyone. I’ve also got two daughters who are twelve and sixteen and I certainly remember what they were like as young-un’s!
Anyhow family photos are truly timeless and such a great keepsake for future generations. Getting the family together to take those perfect portraits can turn into chaos if not approached correctly. So here is some simple sound advice I’ve come up with..
1. Timing is everything.
If you have younger children involved in the shoot, try and arrange the photoshoot at a time when they would be well rested. A rested child makes for happy photos. Mornings usually work best for kids. On that note, make sure that all family members have gotten enough sleep the night before as this helps with the fun and relaxation aspects of the session.
2. Do’s and Dont’s of bribery.
Get your family excited about the photoshoot instead of offering a reward in return for their cooperation. This tends to lead to forced smiles and an irritated bunch of people. However if you do have small children coming along it’s not a bad idea to give the photographer some bribery options in the form of toys or small food items to make those difficult moments a little easier!
3. Relinquish control.
As much as you’ll want to direct your children on where to stand and how to pose, it’s best to leave that to the photographer as they know what works best. Not having this pressure will also make you feel more relaxed.
4. It’s not just about the posing.
The best photos happen when you’re having fun so joke and play with your children, hold your partner’s hand and just let the moments happen.
5. Plan ahead.
Discuss all of your requirements with your photographer beforehand so that the family photo session can just flow. Let your photographer know if you want specific pictures taken.
6. Keep those sugar levels up.
If everyone is well fed, the photoshoot will also run a lot smoother. It’s also not a bad idea to take a few snacks and some water along for those who might need it.
7. Have fun!
The BEST result have always come from families having fun and not taking the shoot too seriously. Remember I’ve seen it all and worse case scenario am happy to rebook the session at no extra cost to yourselves.

Joy-Anne and Family Photography | Tooting Bec | South London
As a South london family photographer I have an abundance of outdoor green spaces in which to photograph families. Joy-Anne and her family, however, wanted an extra special family photography session and opted for the photoshoot to take place in her back garden, which her husband had lovingly worked on for the many years while they’d been there. They particularly wanted photos taken under their cherry tree which had extra significance for them and her husband even gave me a bottle of home-made cherry wine on my way out! How awesome is that!
Here are my favourite pictures from that day..
