The ceremony rooms are light and elegant, the marble staircase is a dream for portraits, and there are lovely little corners throughout the building for those natural, unposed moments. 📍 Where Is Islington Town Hall?
Islington Town Hall is located on Upper Street in the heart of Islington, North London. Built between 1914 and 1920, this iconic, Grade II listed building is known for its grand architecture and historical charm. It’s conveniently situated just a short walk from both Angel Tube Station and Highbury & Islington Tube Station, as well as being served by several major bus routes - making it incredibly easy for guests to reach.
The lively stretch of Upper Street surrounding the Town Hall is packed with restaurants, pubs, and cafés, so it’s perfect for post-ceremony celebrations, quick drinks, or even a full reception.

Each of the ceremony rooms at Islington Town Hall has its own unique feel. The Council Chamber is known for its dramatic staircase and circular seating - an absolute dream for wide-angle ceremony shots. The Mayor’s Parlour offers something more intimate, with soft natural light streaming through its large windows. No matter the room, the Town Hall provides a wonderful backdrop for elegant, documentary-style photography that tells the full story of your day.

Kan and John had quite the entourage at their wedding earlier this year. They opted for the opulent Richmond Suite which perfectly accomodated all their guests. A large room only available on Saturday’s, the Rchmond Suite boasts high-ceilings, oak paneling and a beautiful large fireplace reflecting the Town Hall’s 1920’s grandeur.
